Our client, a leading manufacturer of equipment for the mining and industrial sectors, is seeking a skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee and optimise their production operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes , meeting quality standards , and achieving production goals within set timelines and budgets . This role requires strong leadership , technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement .
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production plans to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
- Coordinate production schedules, resource allocation, and workflow optimisation.
- Supervise, mentor, and manage the production team, including supervisors and operators.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training to enhance team skills.
- Ensure production output meets or exceeds quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor production metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Drive lean manufacturing practices and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety within the production environment.
- Oversee inventory levels and ensure availability of raw materials and components.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to manage supplier relationships and stock levels.
- Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Analyse financial performance and report variances to management.
- Stay updated on advancements in manufacturing technologies.
- Recommend and implement new tools and technologies to enhance production processes.
Requirements
- Qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role, in an electrical manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of leading teams and improving production processes.
- Proficiency in production management software and tools.
- Solid understanding of quality assurance principles and health and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
