About the role
The position is an important one for the successful day-to-day running of the practice in that the candidate to be trained will assist the firm by drafting legal documents under the supervision of the director as well as writing correspondence to be sent to clients and opponents in different matters. The candidate will work with, and report directly to the director of the firm throughout the training period.
Responsibilities
- Drafting/typing of legal documents.
- Drafting of correspondence to clients and opponents.
- Reconcile and update diaries in the office.
- Serving and filing court documents
- Liaising with Sheriffs, Clerks, and Registrars of different Courts to ensure the smooth administration of our files with the Courts.
- Updating clients on the progress of their matters, sending out statements of accounts, and reporting.

Requirements - Higher Certificate/Diploma in law.
- Must not have taken part in the YES Program before.
- South African unemployed youth aged between 18 and 34
- Good command of the English language.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure;
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant programs.
- Knowledge of computer literacy.
- Ability to plan and organize efficiently and effectively.
