About the role We are seeking a passionate and proactive Frontend Developer Intern to join our team. Reporting to the Operations
Manager, you will work alongside experienced developers on exciting projects, contributing to real-world applications while
honing your technical and professional skills. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in modern
frontend development, including coding, debugging, testing, and collaborating in a team environment.
Responsibilities - As a Frontend Developer Intern, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code using CSS and React.
- Debugging and testing frontend components to ensure optimal performance.
- Supporting ongoing development projects and meeting project deadlines.
- Collaborating with backend developers and other team members to deliver seamless solutions.
- Maintaining and improving project repositories using GitHub.
- Gaining familiarity with AWS services and supporting AWS-based projects.
- Participating in technical discussions and contributing innovative ideas.
- Preparing for and engaging in technical assessments and interviews.
Requirements
- South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Must not have participated on the YES Programme before.
- Enrolled in or completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CSS and React.
- Basic understanding of AWS services (preferred) or willingness to obtain AWS certification during the internship.
- Experience with version control systems such as GitHub.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to teamwork.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a dynamic team environment.
