The role
Reporting directly to an ambitious and forward-thinking MD, in this exciting role you will have the opportunity to develop the HR function which is still very new for the Company. A complete review of all systems, processes and practices working alongside departmental managers you will be instrumental in creating change as you shape the input of HR contributing to the evolution of the business. This role is a great opportunity for a HR professional looking to enhance their own cv taking a HR function from its current basic level through development to a functioning partner for the business. Make no mistake, this role is for a 'roll your sleeves up and get stuck in' type of character who enjoys getting involved in the work.
As HR Manager you will:
1) Manage and develop an HR Assistant.
2) Have responsibility for all HR Administration ensuring best practice and legal compliance. Take the lead in Time and Attendance Reviews and Corrective Actions.
3) Lead Performance Management Processes and Actions.
4) Develop HR Policies, Procedures and Handbook to meet Company Requirements and maintain legal compliance, increase the employer brand and promote the Company as an employer of choice.
5) Coach, mentor, train and support line managers in HR practices. Advise management on employment law matters.
6) Liaise with external agencies such as employment law advisors, employment agencies and benefit providers.
7) Lead on Employee Engagement activities.
8) Handle Employee relations cases including disciplinaries and grievances ensuring appropriate outcomes.
9) Conduct annual organisational reviews identifying departmental future requirements.
10) Management of all recruitment, onboarding, employment checks and retention matters ensuring best practice is and legal obligations are satisfied.
11) Ad hoc HR Projects.
The candidate
1) Similar experience within an FMCG environment of over 300 employees. CIPD Level 5 or 7 a distinct advantage but not essential.
2) Experience in dealing with complex ER issues. Experience in developing HR functions.
3) Knowledge of Employment Law and best practice.
4) HR experience and comfortable with hands-on transactional, operational, strategic and change management.

6) Ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities
7) Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with strong attention to detail Excellent IT skills (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet browsers)
