They are looking for a skilled and experienced Operations Manager who is phenomenal with numbers and is technically minded. Role Overview: The Operations Manager will report directly to the Managing Director and oversee operations at multiple factory locations. The role requires a technically and numerically minded individual to manage operational efficiencies, ensure compliance with industry standards, and drive workforce productivity. This person will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless delivery of services while identifying new opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight:
- Manage and monitor all functional outsourcing services at various factory locations, including:
- Packaging, mailing, and consignment processing.
- Primary and secondary quality control procedures.
- Warehouse staffing, stores management, recycling, and manufacturing reworks.
- Ensure performance benchmarks are consistently met across contracts.
- Client Liaison and Problem-Solving:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships.
- Align operational strategies with client requirements to exceed expectations.
- Financial and Technical Management:
- Oversee budgeting, costings, and resource allocation across multiple sites.
- Apply data-driven methods to enhance operational workflows and profitability.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Conduct audits and ensure adherence to OHS , FSSC22000 , and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Ensure all policies and procedures promote inclusivity and employment equity.
- Team Leadership and Workforce Management:
- Supervise 6 contract supervisors and 10 direct reports, while indirectly managing a workforce of 300+ staff.
- Lead capacity-building initiatives, including training in GMP and FSSC22000 practices.
- Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new opportunities in functional outsourcing services.
- Develop strategies to grow the company’s operational footprint.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, preferably in the TES or logistics industry.
- Education: Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience; an MBA is advantageous.
- Strong numerical and technical aptitude , with the ability to manage budgets, workflows, and performance metrics.
- Expertise in logistics, operational management, and planning.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as FSSC22000, GMP, ISO, and QMS.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and business software platforms.
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license and must have own reliable car.
