We are seeking an experienced Tender Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pricing, administrating, strategy, planning, and administration of tenders, with a focus on construction and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Tender Pricing: Prepare and manage tender pricing, including cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
- Tender Administration: Administer the tender process, including preparing and issuing tender documents, evaluating tenders, and recommending tender awards.
- Tender Strategy: Develop and implement tender strategies to ensure successful tender outcomes.
- Tender Planning: Plan and coordinate tender activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Administration: Provide administrative support for tender-related activities, including document management, data entry, and reporting.
- CCS and MS Project: Utilize CCS (Cubicost or similar) and MS Project to manage and analyze tender data, including cost estimates, schedules, and resources.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with tenders and contracts.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Certifications: Registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) would be an advantage
Requirements
- Qualifications: BSc or BTech in Quantity Surveying (or relevant field)
- Experience: 10 years of experience in tender quantity surveying, with a focus on construction and infrastructure projects
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of:
- Tender pricing and administration principles and practices
- Quantity surveying principles and practices
- Contract administration and management
- Risk management principles and practices
- South African construction and infrastructure industry
- CCS (Cubicost or similar) and MS Project software
