An innovative manufacturing company that provides custom product solutions across various industries using its innovative patented technology platform is looking for an ambitious and hungry Financial Accountant to join their Cape Town team on-site.
As an Accountant, you’ll report directly to the Head of Finance and play a crucial role in maintaining the company’s financial integrity. The role involves managing precise records, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance, while also contributing to financial planning and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, reconcile bank statements, manage accounts payable/receivable, and process transactions (invoicing, payments, payroll).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and provide audit documentation.
- Prepare tax returns, manage VAT worksheets, and support tax planning.
- Maintain Accounts Payable schedule; prepare and reconcile payments.
- Implement and oversee controls to protect assets and resolve discrepancies.
- Build supplier relationships; manage contracts, pricing, and supplier records.
- Review purchase orders, coordinate with logistics, and manage inventory levels.
- Monitor costs to identify savings opportunities.
- Work with the Head of Finance and other teams to ensure aligned financial processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Professional Accountant (SA) or AGA (SA).
- 3 - 5 years of total years of experience in finance and accounting.
- At least 1 year of experience in a commercial environment (manufacturing experience beneficial).
- Strong exposure in financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit support.
- Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong Excel skills and proficient in Google Sheets, Google Docs, and other office management software.
Salary:
- R25 000 - R35 000 / month CTC
