Our reputable Construction client based in Johannesburg is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
Purpose of the job:
Quantity surveyors in essence work with the cost analysis of the building projects. The quantity surveyor executes cost analysis based on the architectural drawings, engineering estimates, materials required, and the labour involved.
Salary: R50 000 CTC (depending on experience)

Requirements:
- Driver’s license with own reliable vehicle is a must.
- Minimum Matric, Build Smart, CCS, OHS Act, Construction Regulations.
- Degree/Diploma in Construction Management/Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in this specific role.
- Minimum 5 years industry experience in the construction industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Build Smart, QTY, and CCS.
- Physical fitness - must be able to move freely.
Key Performance Areas:
Surveyors seek to minimise construction costs and enhance value for money while still achieving the required standards and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Establish cost control methods with the Contract Manager.
- Liaise with the client's QS representative, subcontractors, suppliers, prepare and agree value variations.
- Ensure that the preparation of valuation and issue of interim certificates enable punctual payment.
- Ensure that subcontract orders are placed in accordance with the requirements of the procurement schedule.
- Monitor and update contract turnover and cash flow forecasts as required.
- Cross-check material deliveries against site measurements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
