Our client, within the motor industry based in Johannesburg North, seeks a qualified and experienced
Dealership Branch Accountant
to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a motor dealership and be well-versed in the financial operations specific to the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the branch's financial records and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and compliance with company policies.
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and budgets for the branch.
Reconcile balance sheets and bank statements regularly.
Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and other financial regulations.
Assist with the preparation of annual audits and liaise with auditors when required.
Provide financial analysis and support to senior management.
Maintain and monitor cash flow and perform financial forecasting.
Supervise and train junior accounting staff as needed.
Implement and maintain accounting systems and controls, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Requirements:
Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Accounting or Finance (e.g., BCom Accounting or similar).
Proven experience in an
accounting role at a motor dealership .
Experience with
Pinnacle
software is preferred.
Must have Grade 12.
Strong understanding of dealership-specific accounting practices and principles.
Sound knowledge of financial regulations, VAT, and tax compliance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
