KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Supervisory:
Team Supervision:
Oversee +20 reporting lines to meet objectives, enhance productivity, and maintain discipline.
Shift Management:
Plan, lead, organize, motivate, and delegate tasks per shift to meet the production plan.
Performance Development:
Conduct annual Personal Development Plans (PDPs) for all reporting lines.
Daily Briefings:
Hold daily meetings with staff to discuss planning and plant issues.
Inventory Management:
Ensure inventory is controlled in accordance with the company policies and ERP systems are accurate and up to date.
Administrative:
Production Planning:
Produce the Production Plan in coordination with the Sales team.
Scheduling:
Coordinate the scheduling of raw materials and packaging with the Supply Chain department.
Data Management:
Ensure the capture and accuracy of production and related data for usages/yields on raw materials/finished goods in the Production ERP system.
Record Keeping:
Complete daily paperwork required for production records.
Inventory Coordination:
Organize and manage inventory controls and stock takes as needed.
SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality):
Compliance:
Ensure adherence to ISO, Environmental, Health, and Safety procedures and work instructions.
Workplace Safety:
Promote and maintain a clean, healthy, safe, and environmentally friendly workplace.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure products are manufactured within specifications.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure plant and equipment are in safe and efficient working order to meet production demands.
Incident Management:
Investigate incidents, errors, and non-compliance issues, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Matric and a degree/diploma in Production Management
Minimum of 5 years experience in leading and managing a production team.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead in a dynamic environment.
Ability to work under pressure and cope with multiple changing deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and strong competency in ERP systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
