Your responsibilities
The ETRM department at Uniper is a key player in delivering development and operations (DEVOPS) for our core Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems. This team, consisting of Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Technical Analysts, is responsible for supporting the entire trade lifecycle across various commodities including Gas, Power, Coal, Oil, Freight, Weather, and LNG. As trusted partners to key business stakeholders such as Front Office, Risk Management, and Middle and Back Office, the ETRM team enables the Uniper business teams by driving Strategic Projects supporting Uniper’s Growth & Transformation.
In this role, you will:
Take ownership of the end-to-end trade lifecycle for Power and Gas markets, both in the UK and globally
Understand new business initiatives and product implementations that support Uniper’s trading strategies
Follow standard Uniper IT project delivery processes to ensure consistent, quality outcomes
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to support Uniper’s transformation, particularly in the Green Power and Green Gas portfolios
Lead the identification, classification, documentation, and engineering of business requirements
Facilitate workshops with a wide range of stakeholders, from operational staff to director-level executives, ensuring alignment and clarity in project goals
Serve as the first point of contact for the business to consult on requirements and drive solutions
Work within an international, multi-sourced delivery model alongside Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Developers
Assist in identifying and designing appropriate IT solutions, including solution evaluation and recommendations
Maintain a holistic view of E2E solutions, ensuring comprehensive understanding of impacts across the trading landscape
Take clear ownership of delivering solutions across all phases of the trade lifecycle
Challenge requirements where necessary and provide alternative solution options, including cost/benefit analyses
Be an active member of the “Business Analyst Community” at Uniper, driving best practices and continuous improvement
Your profile
Educated to degree level, preferably with a Master’s in IT, Energy Economics, or Engineering
Professional qualifications in Project Management or Business Analysis (e.g., PMP, CBAP) are highly desirable
Deep knowledge of Gas or Power trading, with a strong understanding of the trade lifecycle. Experience with additional commodities is a plus
Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the Energy Trading domain or in Capital Markets Domain
Strong understanding of Green Power, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Green Certificates, and Green Gases
Functional and technical expertise in OpenLink Endur, including the ability to understand and work with AVS/JVS and OpenComponents
Ability to lead and mentor Business Analysts and Developers, including offshore teams
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage complex dependencies systematically and effectively
Solid understanding of ETRM systems, scheduling applications, and reporting landscapes, with a thorough knowledge of trade lifecycle processes
Proven ability to drive and deliver change with a focus on commercial outcomes
Experience in facilitating discussions to resolve technical challenges, balancing input from multiple business and technical stakeholders
Strong stakeholder communication and management skills
Self-starter with a proactive approach to project ownership
Experience leading offshore teams and owning significant project deliverables in large-scale programs
