Job title: Senior Accountant / Fractional Financial Manager
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized Senior Accountant / Fractional Financial Manager to manage financial tasks for a variety of clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and supporting clients with their financial management needs.
A passion for finance and a desire to progress to a Fractional CFO role is essential. We are looking for a technically skilled, proactive individual who embraces innovation and is committed to continuous learning. Depending on the candidate's experience, there may also be opportunities to support the team with Fractional CFO services, financial modelling, forecasting, and other advisory projects .
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including recording transactions, managing accounts payable/receivable, and performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Produce monthly management reports, provide client analysis, ensure compliance with financial regulations, prepare annual financial statements and tax calculations, and perform ad hoc financial analysis.
- Depending on the candidate’s experience, support the team with Fractional CFO and FM services , financial modelling, forecasting, and other advisory projects.
Client Communication & Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service by proactively engaging with clients, addressing inquiries promptly, and delivering timely financial information.
Client Needs Identification & Solution Offering:
- Develop a deep understanding of clients’ financial situations, identify additional financial needs, and suggest suitable service offerings such as Advisory, Fractional FM, and Fractional CFO services .
Operational Efficiency:
- Identify and implement process improvements, ensure quality standards, and consistently meet deadlines.
Team Collaboration & Professional Growth:
- Collaborate on team projects, pursue continuous professional development, and actively communicate personal growth goals with supervisors.
Key Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in accounting or bookkeeping, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field, ideally with a CIMA/SAIPA traineeship .
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations in South Africa.
- Extensive experience in Xero and strong knowledge of Xero integrations (e.g., Dext for billing and expense claims).
- Strong Excel skills for building and maintaining financial models (e.g., cash flow, budgets, forecasts, costing), or equivalent software like Syft/Reach .
- Experience in drafting and reviewing Annual Financial Statements (using Draftworks or Caseware).
- Proficient in tax calculations and filing returns with SARS .
- Excellent communication skills and effective client relationship management.
- Ability to be proactive, take initiative, solve problems, and suggest improvements.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with an affinity for using technology to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team.

This is a fulltime permanent position based in office in Somerset West.
Area: Somerset West.
Starting date: As soon as possible.
Salary: Market-related (Depending on experience) R30 000 - R42 000 per month.
