Financial Accountant required for a major offshore wind developer based in England
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and produce key monthly controls which check data accuracy
- Understand how the SAP data interacts with the Group reporting data and therefore perform key control checks to test data integrity.
- Management reporting;
- Key control reporting;
- Compliance with Accounting Standards and Companies Act;
- Ledger management;
- Fixed asset management and ownership (including IFRS 16 considerations);
- Supporting group reporting quarterly;
- Supporting team lead to resolve any SAP GL issues
- Deal with payment allocation queries
- Support payment requests
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant with recognised body (e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
- Proficient knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles with previous experience of the preparation and review of accounts;
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS101 and IFRS;
- Analytical and detail conscious;
- Previous accounting experience ideally within a large Company/Group environment;
- Ability to deal with complexity, keeping up to date with Commercial developments in a changing environment;
- Advanced excel skills required;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to liaise with both finance and non-finance colleagues up to Director level;
- Ability to present financial information using appropriate media to senior management;
- Ability to deal with confidential material in an appropriate manner;
- Ability to challenge work of others in an effective but sensitive manner;
- A focus on problem solving and ability to liaise with a number of departments to obtain optimum solutions;
- Ability to influence stakeholders;
- Knowledge of SAP (preferred);
- Understanding of electricity market in the UK and challenges that face the renewable energy industry; and Relevant industry experience (preferred).
