Senior Learning Technologies Support Officer (Job Level 9)

The post is positioned within the Centre for Learning Technologies.
Requirements:
- At least a relevant NQF level 5 qualification with at least three years’ relevant experience within a technical helpdesk support environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and reading, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with individuals at management and other levels, both internally and externally.
- High-level proficiency in learning management systems (preferably Moodle) regarding the front end as well as the site administration interface.
- High-level proficiency in Office 365 (including Microsoft Teams) as well as proficiency in multimedia applications for creating user guides (e.g., Camtasia, Adobe Captivate and other such software).
- Intermediate working knowledge of HTML, as well as other relevant web-based languages (e.g., CSS and PHP) and how they are used within a learning management system environment (such as the Moodle editor).
- Proven ability to work well in a team but also independently.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent time management skills, accuracy and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- The ability to act with integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Recommendations:
- A relevant degree or postgraduate diploma.
- An ITIL Foundation certification.
- High level of proficiency and experience concerning the use, application and helpdesk support of the Moodle learning management system and embedded appropriate learning technologies (e.g., Turnitin and Respondus).
- Proven experience gained with regard to technical support of computer software and appropriate learning technologies to staff and students within a university environment.
