A Little Bit About the Role:
OLIVER+ are expanding the team for our client, a global EVENT MARKETING INDUSTRY company with multiple international brands household names in its stable.
OLIVER+ is looking to recruit a Motion Graphics Designer / Editor to work with our offshore teams on this account as a dedicated member of the team on a long-term contract basis. The offshore team’s role is to service this client globally for any needs that cannot be filled by their on-site teams; these requests can be anything from POS to static social posts, to banners for web (static and dynamic), to OOH, to animations, to copy for websites etc.
This is a great opportunity to work within a new team, creating impactful communications across the world and developing design best practices for the various brands.
As a Motion Graphics Artist / Editor you will be expected to deliver a vast range of different marketing material; from social assets such as GIFs or Instagram posts, to cutdowns of TVCs, 2D animations, graphics that include motion such as supers or icons and various graphic elements, sometimes from concept.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in motion graphics and editing, inclusive of grading and sound design. Experience in 2D animation from concept development, storyboarding to final execution is essential. A good knowledge or history of work in Social Media projects is also desirable. You’ll ideally have worked on EVENT MARKETING INDUSTRY, with at least 3 years’ experience and an up-to-date showreel to show us what you’ve worked on. The role is fast-paced and responsive, working across multiple different projects and clients within the organization.
What You'll be Doing:
- Work on projects from start to finish, working collaboratively across teams on ideation, creation, and implementation.
- Produce creative motion graphics and editing work with a clear rationale to accompany the work.
- Be a brand guardian.
- Must be hands-on and enjoy working with a team.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Using existing assets and stock imagery to come up with relevant and up-to-date content.
- Keeping up to date with current design trends.
- Understand what makes GREAT content e.g., best practices for making social assets and mobile first.
- Creating, sometimes from scratch and sometimes adapting from existing work, 2D animations, Motion Graphics, Explainer videos, Gifs, etc.
- Compositing, storyboarding, illustration, design, and animation.
- Occasional retouching and photo-manipulation.
- Provides mentoring to more junior members of the team, helping them to learn and evolve their design abilities through feedback and teaching.
- Brainstorming with the Creative Director to come up with motion ideas.
- Develop storyboards for the initial stages of production under guidance of the creative director.
- Animates/illustrates/designs within the set style defined by the creative director.
- Listening to constructive feedback from the client and creative director and altering animations to better suit the project’s needs.
- Direct the work of mid and junior creative team members based on constructive feedback and the project’s needs.
- Take on constructive feedback and execute it to the best of your capabilities in order to align with the creative director’s vision for the project.
- Lead, take ownership and responsibility for projects within OLIVER+.
- Takes part in regular calls to discuss workflows and review designs amongst clients.
- Leads regular project team calls to discuss workflows, tips & tricks, and review designs amongst peers.
- Collaborates with and supports the creative director to understand the full picture of the project goals and how animation fits into that wider picture.
- Collaborate with the creative director on scoping projects and defining project timelines for the producer.
- The ability to take a project from concept to completion, good communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential.
- Accurate and consistent completion of timesheets.
What you’ll need:
- Proficiency in Adobe CC suite applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, and be open to learning Cinema 4D.
- The ability to draw is advantageous.
- A portfolio and showreel demonstrating your best work, from ideation through to execution.
- A team player and possess the ability to build strong and effective working relationships.
- A passion for digital trends and motion graphic/animation design.
- Strong working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite. Requirement is for competency in Premier Pro and After Effects. Advantageous: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and 3D Programs (3D non-essential but advantageous).
- Passionate about editing & motion graphics and understanding the latest innovations in digital & social design.
- Love working in a fast-paced adaptable, collaborative environment.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills – able to express themselves clearly.
- Ability to adhere to internal processes, including following brand guidelines.
