Production Planner
Our client is looking for a dedicated and competent person to join their manufacturing team as a PRODUCTION PLANNER in their Paarl clothing manufacturing factory.
The purpose of this job is to liaise with all relevant stakeholders in the company to successfully plan, forecast, coordinate, and schedule the full supply chain process for manufacturing in the company in such a manner that lead times are met, quality improved, in-time delivery ensured, and cost-effectiveness is maintained. This includes monitoring production progress, raw material availability, checking of inventories, and other administration.
Duties & Responsibilities
Objectives:
- Analytical ability with an eye for detail (critical path analysis)
- Good garment construction knowledge
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Able to plan, monitor, and track progress of projects and plans
- Good communication and negotiation skills (including conflict resolution)
- Report writing and administrative skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, monitor, and track the factory’s production plan (this includes areas such as capacity planning, quantity and cost of production; line planning or WIP) through the FastReact planning board.
- Draw up the master production schedule on FastReact planning board to establish the production sequence and lead times of each product in order to meet customer delivery dates.
- Liaise with department heads to gather information, monitor work in progress (WIP), and other production projects.
- Update company systems with regard to purchasing records and other information impacting delivery schedules or special production projects.
- Reporting and general administration.
- Use the company’s ERP system and other planning and reporting tools to provide value add for maximum planning of resources.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements:
- Senior certificate with mathematics and/or accounting or equivalent level.
- B.Com or BSc. Degree (or other numerate qualification)/ National Diploma in Clothing Production Management.
- Excel intermediate level (including pivot tables and formulas).
- Previous experience of Fast-React Planning Board.
- 6 to 8 years’ working experience in a manufacturing and production environment in Fibre processing, textiles, clothing, or related industry.
- 3 to 5 years’ previous experience in production planning, including working on an ERP/production planning system.
- Reliable team player with an excellent attendance record.
- Eager to learn with a passion for manufacturing and production.
- Able to work in a deadline, fast-paced environment.
- Experience working on Fast-React and Sage would be advantageous.
Package & Remuneration
Renumeration: R15 000 – R20 000
