An established fresh produce marketing, farming and processing company is looking to grow its export business out of Sub Saharan Africa into global markets including the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia. The goal is to increase the export contribution from 10% to 30% within the group.
Position Overview
- Senior executive position
- Reports to Group CEO
- Lead Export team in both SA, ZIM & UK
- Formulate, develop, and deliver export strategy
- Manage financial budget
- Manage procurement function, work with growers/farmers/managing growing programmes
- Manage product category strategies
- Understanding of logistics (International/Air Freight and also going into Sea Freight)
- Preferable exporting experience in vegetables advantageous; however, they see fruit categories being an important growth opportunity as they want to broaden their range
- Ability to negotiate and work with retail buying teams
- Strong commercial ability
- Strategic thinker
- Ambitious
- Self-starter
- Willingness to travel in SA and internationally
- Ideally based in Johannesburg, but candidates based in CPT could also be considered as an option
