Purpose of Role:
To lead profitable growth of the Amarula portfolio of brands across the globe. Lead the development of marketing strategies with a focus on consumer, portfolio management, integrated commercial planning, breakthrough communications, innovation, and renovation. Ensure all brand and marketing activities are rooted in category and consumer insights and have an intricate understanding of multi-country marketing and competitor dynamics. Monitor commercial and brand health and partner with local opcos in rectifying with corrective actions as required. Form an integral leadership role within the broader Heineken group, entrenching culture and leadership values of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Amarula Portfolio Strategy in collaboration with OPCOs in integrated commercial planning. Support development of winning brand strategies using the Heineken Marketing way methodology and toolkit.
- Develop a category strategic view and ensure all brand strategies incorporate the category lens.
- Turn data into actionable insights to guide long-term brand trajectory that maximizes profitable growth. Support OPCOs in developing 1-3 year financial targets (Volume/Revenue/GP, Market share) and co-create brand health targets.
- Co-create category pack price ladders. Create a creative platform fit for a variety of lead markets. Identify relevant innovation opportunities by harnessing consumer shopper category and customer insights.
- Lead and direct the development of an integrated marketing communication strategy to communicate with all stakeholders internally and externally.
- Develop innovation pathway 1-5 years which positions the brand ahead of the curve vs competitors and ensures it remains relevant with target consumer groups.
- Lead collaboration on digital transformation and E-Commerce projects with G&I and other relevant stakeholders.
- Co-own agency relationship along with OPCO marketing directors.
- Provide oversight and governance of brand playbooks in markets.
- Take lead on all CSI projects and stakeholder management in conjunction with SA Corporate Affairs.
- Manage resource management and allocation of brand teams on priorities and workloads. Lead alignment of people, processes, and brands to deliver company values and corporate reputation.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Relevant and recognized honours or postgraduate qualification in commercial marketing.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years marketing experience, ideally across a range of FMCG companies. Alcohol experience would be beneficial though not mandatory.
- Thorough understanding of supply chain dynamics.
- Superior leadership skills, team leadership, thought leadership, problem-solving, collaboration. Mastery of developing strategic business planning.
- Cross-functional management and project management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Demonstrates creativity and management of the creative development process.
- Superior communication skills, both written and oral.
