About the Role:
As Operations Executive, you will be responsible for overseeing all retail operations across our stores in three countries, maximizing profitability, and ensuring alignment with our overall business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the development and execution of the company's overall strategy and translate it into actionable operational plans.
- Operational Excellence: Direct and oversee key performance indicators including turnover, expenses, stock losses, risk, and profitability across all stores. Implement and monitor business processes and methodologies, conduct regular business reviews, and provide comprehensive reporting to the Board.
- Store Development & Property: Collaborate with Pepkor Property to identify new store locations, manage relocations, revamps, and closures. Conduct site assessments, analyze financial indicators, and initiate innovative store layouts and designs. Oversee the Store Development team to ensure timely project delivery.
- Risk Management: Analyze monthly audit reports, implement corrective actions, and ensure annual audits are conducted in all stores.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the annual Operations budget, overseeing turnover, store expenses, and capital expenditure.
- People Management: Lead and develop a high-performing team, including recruitment, performance reviews, coaching, and succession planning.
Qualifications
- A Business/Marketing Degree or equivalent diploma is highly advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in a senior management position within a major retail chain.
- Strong understanding of retail financial principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
- Exceptional leadership, analytical, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
