As a Functional Assessor you will work autonomously to assess the cases of people who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit as part of the DWPs Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). This will involve holding consultations and writing fair and accurate reports.

As a Functional Assessor, you will play a crucial role in interviewing claimants to understand the challenges they face.
By completing thorough assessments and examinations via telephone, video call, or face-to-face means you will assess how our claimant’s disability/condition/illness impacts their functional ability on daily activities in a respectful, non-biased and reassuring manner.
With proven experience of working within a medical background you will;
· Analyse information critically to create accurate and concise reports.
· Interpret clinical information and evidence.
· Maintain professional standards in written communication and adherence to code of conduct.
· Provide positive experiences for claimants and colleagues, meeting quality and productivity targets.
Requirements:
We would love to hear from you if you have:
· A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional (listed below)
· An ability to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge.
· Previous experience in using computer software including Microsoft Office
Essentials Qualifications (without these your application cannot be considered)
Nurses:
· Qualified Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD only)
· Member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN)
Physios/OTs:
· Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or Qualified Occupational Therapist
· Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
· Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) or College of OT’s (COT)
Paramedics:
· BSc or Qualified Paramedic
· Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
