Job Description :
- Grade 12/ equivalent.
- Good verbal and written communication and literacy skills in English and Afrikaans.
- Clean criminal record.
- A valid, unendorsed driver's license with the appropriate vehicle codes.
- Proven experience working as a Network Support Technician or in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
- Experience with network hardware and software.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
- Strong knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA).
Profil Request :
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, security, and availability, and take proactive measures to address issues and prevent downtime.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including LAN, WAN, and VPN connections, to identify and resolve root causes.
- Configure and maintain network protocols, IP addressing, and routing tables to optimize network performance and reliability.
- Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs, to protect against cyber threats.
- Perform network capacity planning and bandwidth management to support the organization's growing needs.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to plan and implement network infrastructure projects and upgrades.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and other IT staff as needed.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity of operations.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in network support to ensure the continuous improvement of IT services.
- Any ad hoc admin/ other responsibilities as and when required.
