Operational Finance Manager
Our client, a reputable audio-visual equipment supplier, currently seeks to hire an Operational Finance Manager to join their growing team based in Midrand, Johannesburg. This position reports directly into the Finance Manager with a dotted line to the MD.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and maintain financial models to forecast sales, expenses, and cash flow.
- Analyse financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and track budgets and financial goals.
- Cost Management:
- Monitor and analyse costs related to inventory, distribution, and operations.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability without sacrificing quality or service.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory planning and procurement to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing carrying costs.
- Implement inventory control procedures to optimize inventory turnover and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Streamline financial processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify and implement systems and tools to automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows.
- Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Relevant Degree (Finance/ Accounting)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management, with experience in working with local and foreign currencies
- Must have experience in an operational finance/ financial controller/ financial management and analysis function
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make data-driven recommendations.
- SAGE 300/ Accpac or similar systems experience
- Must have interfaced with a Logistics, Sales, Operations and Finance Departments
