The Successful applicant will be responsible for all Manager functions and management of a payroll team within a division of the business.
Education and Experience required:
- Matric (Essential)
- Relevant Payroll/Finance Qualification (NQF6) advantageous
- At least 5 years' experience as a payroll officer managing a large portfolio
- At least 1-3 years supervisory experience (advantageous)
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Ability to form close working relationships with business stakeholders and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to quickly analyse and manipulate large quantities of financial data from multiple sources and draw out key matters of significance
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and good presentation skills
- Strong MS Office Suite skills (Intermediate/Advanced Excel Essential)
- Good knowledge of relevant systems i.e. SAP and PRP/Biometrics System
- Planning and organising

- Leadership and Management skills
- Full understanding of tax and various bargaining council legislative rules.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Ensure the delivery of the overall payroll function (i.e. leave administration, expense claims, travel, new employee onboarding, employee transfers and offboarding processes)
- Management of month-end processes and payments
- Management of PRP within the teams
- Knowledge of Systems and reporting i.e. SAP and PRP/Biometrics Systems
- Lead and manage teams
- Establish and maintain good relationships with stakeholders in operations and clients
- Ensure accurate payments to Third Parties and Payroll payments
- Review payroll discrepancies, determine problem areas and initiate or recommend adjustments
- Assist employees and managers with payroll and benefits related queries
