Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED.
- Two (2) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of utilities infrastructure associated with water production, water reclamation, or utilities collection and distribution systems (depending on area of assignment).
Licenses or Certifications
- Must possess a valid state driver's license and obtain a valid Florida CDL B driver's license within thirty (30) days of hire or promotion.
- When assigned to Collection and Distribution: Must possess a valid Backflow Testing/Repair or Cross Connection Control certification within ninety (90) days of hire or promotion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs semi-skilled work in the operation of simple to moderately complex equipment for the City. Position generally performs essential functions as part of a crew comprised of other Technicians, Laborers, and the like, but performs certain independent tasks at the discretion of supervisor.
- Operates simple to moderately complex equipment, i.e., trucks, forklifts, back hoes, jack hammers.
- Prepares assigned equipment for daily work orders by daily inspecting prior to and after use, and performing regular maintenance and minor repair as directed.
- Performs maintenance and repair on municipal property, i.e., installation and repair of water or irrigation lines.
- Performs other related duties as required.
