The HVAC Installation Technician is responsible for the installation of HVAC Units, split and chiller units, cooling towers; hanging equipment, running pipe and moving equipment.
The Technician will need to prepare(s) and secure(s) complete materials lists and maintain good communication with customers and project team members.
Duties / responsibilities
- Install HVAC equipment in accordance with work orders
- Plans sequence of functions necessary for installation projects.
- Locate, diagnose and make repairs to ensure continuous, safe and efficient installation of all equipment.
- Keep supervisor appraised of work progress
- Track and monitor all parts and materials used in installation activities
- Ensure that final work meets quality standards and is inspected by Supervisor
- Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Timely completion of paperwork including but not limited to timesheets, on-site documentation
Required Qualification and experience
- 3 5 years HVAC Industry and installation experience
- 3 5 years experience in HVAC or service industry
- Proven experience working on new construction and retrofits projects
- Valid drivers licence
- Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent N4 Certificate (advantageous)
- Knowledge and ability to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed
- Internal organisational systems and controls Be familiar with a wide range of equipment
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and drawings
- Report formatting
- High level of technical competence
