Responsibilities:
- Maintain the plant and ensure that uptime is at a required standard
- Control maintenance costs according to the budget
- Purchase spares and equipment
- Manage projects
- Liaise with suppliers
- Implement all safety aspects within the plant
- Investigate and make recommendations regarding improved performance of plant and machinery
- Demonstrate strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to improve operational efficiency
- Manage artisans with regard to performance and discipline
- Train and develop staff
- Stand in for the Plant Engineer in his absence when required
- Handle all engineering aspects within the department, including planned, preventative, breakdown maintenance, and stock levels of spare parts

Desired Experience & Qualification
Educational & Training Requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and/or trade-tested Mechanical Fitter
- A certificate or diploma in supervisory management and/or a proven track record in a similar position
Experience Required:
- A minimum of 5 years in a similar position
- Hydraulic and pneumatic experience
- Must be able to read CAD drawings
