To ensure alignment of all enterprise capabilities to JSE business strategy by using multiple architectural models/views showing current and future capabilities and designing heterogeneous solutions to ensure resiliency and efficiency of JSE systems.
Results Delivery
- Develop Technology Roadmaps to prioritise delivery of focus areas for the year in support of JSE’s business strategy.
- Participate in planning sessions to formalise technology roadmaps (4-5 year view) by conducting research on latest IT and business trends and meeting with stakeholders under guidance with senior enterprise architect.
- Execute the enterprise architecture plan provided by the senior architects to ensure results are delivered cost-effectively.
- Align all activities to the roadmap, presenting options including costs of technology designs and dependencies to relevant stakeholders for approval, ensuring all considerations have been accounted for.
- Apply enterprise architecture and business principles as guidelines when considering alternatives for solution planning and delivery.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Provide thought leadership and input into the business strategies and construct high-level designs (concepts) that will facilitate the implementation thereof.
- Network with other solution architects and internal business partners to understand requirements to assist in drawing up enterprise architecture models.
- Communicate ideas clearly and concisely either verbally and in written documents (graphics or text), to present these coherently and logically to relevant stakeholders.
Process Management
- Collaborate with business and IT functional areas to understand the JSE business operating context in order to contribute to the formulation of a roadmap to transition business and IT from current to the desired “end state.”
- Present business solutions verbally or by written documentation (graphics/text) to senior team, to enable senior architects to validate proposed solutions and make recommendations for improvement.
- Participate in the selection and implementation of the appropriate IT initiatives required to drive an effective and efficient IT operation by obtaining an understanding of known and anticipated issues from respective stakeholders.
- Collaborate with architecture team in order to ensure skills transfer by challenging their thinking processes and providing support and validation of their proposals.
- Work with senior architects to promote and pilot proof of concepts where new trends and technologies can be adopted to enhance and improve business operations.
- Monitor JSE technology systems portfolio to identify architectural and optimisation opportunities.
- Research architecture trends and technological innovations in the global Exchange industry in order to make appropriate development and roadmap recommendations.
- Apply analytical and conceptual thinking skills to create original concepts and theories under guidance from a senior person for a variety of projects to deliver business value.
- Support the development of business cases for JSE by verifying understanding of business requirements with senior architects, plan and document solutions, then confirm alignment and validation of solution with senior architects.
- Become a respected key contributor to meetings, acting as a trusted independent thinker.
- Maintain an inventory and reference library of all analysis in support of proposed and recommended architectures.
- Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the JSE architecture by the interpretation of models.
- Ensure that strategies and suggested architectures support and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the development of high-level projects or initiatives to address relevant gaps in the form of roadmaps and proposed change projects.
- Assess near-term needs, using structured interview processes, to establish business outcomes and priorities in order to propose solutions.
- Consult with SMEs to develop alternative solution concepts and research and present delivery options, risks, cost-benefits, impact on other business processes and system priorities to the broader EA team.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Information Technology.
- Enterprise Architect Framework certification, such as Togaf (Advantageous).
- Minimum of 5 - 8 years working experience in business analysis, process engineering, senior development, process engineering, enterprise architecture, including solution design and modelling experience.
- Experience in Financial and Capital Markets Industry preferred.
