Automotive Accountant Position
An Automotive Dealership in Cape Town (Tableview) is looking for an Accountant to join their dynamic team. PLEASE NOTE: You must reside in Cape Town and have some sort of automotive background.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Must have a good understanding of the motor industry.
- Automotive Systems knowledge is an advantage.
- Five+ years of experience.
- Submit daily cash flow and daily bank reconciliation.
- Manage debtors book; a debtors clerk is in place but manage the 60+ days accounts.
- Manage creditors book; a creditors clerk is in place.
- Manage daily cash outstanding reports.
- Verify and release daily payments.
- Manage warranties; warranties processed by a junior accountant - monitor any claim that goes over 30 days.
- Fleet claims – reconcile monthly to ensure OEM payments are processed and cleared.
- Prepare salary journal once a month.
- Balance sheet reconciliations – an essential part of the job function to ensure balance sheet accounts have no item older than 30 days.
- Reconcile OEM creditor's account.
- Monthly Sewells submission.
- Prepare monthly journals.
Experience & Qualification
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience as an Accountant, beneficial within the Automotive Industry.
- National Diploma or BCom Degree in Accounting or similar will be advantageous.
- Good understanding of Financial Statements and GAAP standards.
- Ability to manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Good understanding of Tax Laws and Regulations.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Must have contactable references.
