The HR Officer will be required to display a wide range of knowledge, skill, and expertise within the area of HR. The HR Officer will be expected to assist the business within the Limpopo and surrounding regions with any HR-related queries. The role plays a pivotal part in fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicating and assisting stores with HR-related matters and queries
- Assist to implement and improve systems and procedures related to the HR department
- Ensure the updating, interpretation, and implementation of Organization Policies, Procedures, and Agreements
- Prepare and present best practice solutions to the business to minimize risks, including management reporting and benchmarking statistics
- Assist in training and development at store level
- Executing of IPM
- Maintain current knowledge of tools and best practices within Employee Relations
- Day-to-day HR/IR advice to Managers/Directors/Employees
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity even when dealing with controversial issues
- Chairing disciplinary hearings
- Appearances at the CCMA for inter alia: Con/Arb processes, Conciliation, Recession Hearings
- Dealing with internal grievances (Group and individual)
- Counseling, Evaluation, and Training of staff
- Incapacity Investigations (Poor Work Performance and Ill Health)
- Facilitating retrenchment procedures
- Drafting or perusing of recognitions agreements/wage and or any other agreements pertaining to Employee/Union related matters
- Strike attendances and settlements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualification in Human Resource Management
- Knowledge of LRA; BCEA; SDLA; OHSA; COIDA; UIA; UI Contribution Act; SDA and EEA
- Be a good negotiator and conflict handler
- Ability to multitask; Reliability, dependability, and responsibility
- Accuracy and efficiency
- MS Office Suite experience
- 3 - 5 Years’ experience in HR/IR Generalist
- Valid driver’s licence and travel to sites on occasion
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication, management, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in Tsonga and Venda (will be advantageous)
