Lyra Southern Africa is recruiting an Occupational Medical Practitioner, based in South Africa. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in supporting the company’s business strategy of growth in diversified services and innovation and be a role model for the expected behaviours and attitudes. Key deliverables in this role are business development, marketing, clinical care and governance and the retention of all existing Organisational Performance Solutions clients, through the delivery of exceptional quality services that result in proven value to the client organisation. Interaction between this role and the Key Account Managers is essential in ensuring the clients' expectations are met and that all agreed terms are met within the SLA. Regular feedback and check-in sessions will be held between the Clinical Operations Manager and the Key Account Managers.
Key Responsibilities - Product line/department management
- Executive Wellbeing Centre – management of executive wellbeing medical services, and the running of the centre (clinical and operational).
- Occupational Performance Solutions – management of incapacity, disability, fitness for work, sick leave verification, functional capacity related cases for employees of our corporate clients.
- Musculoskeletal Care (MSK) – provision of MSK services to employees of our corporate clients via in-person and telephonic care, and webinars, including ergonomic assessments and applications.
Business Development
- Create and implement an effective sales strategy and pipeline of clients and engage with potential clients to prospect new business towards the achievement of the overall Lyra SA sales targets.
- Proactively identify trends within the market to inform and develop convincing value propositions for new or add-on sales opportunities.
- Ensure a high quality of proposals and presentations for client engagement.
- The ability to not only provide high-level solutions but also integrate the proposed solution with a good understanding of the client’s business realities.
- Coordinate, participate and support all sales processes including monitoring and forecasting of sales performance.
- Continue to identify new product offerings as well as go-to-market strategies in support of Lyra growth and diversification.
- Represent Lyra as part of the sales team with client presentations.
- Set up and manage alliances and relationships with various third-party companies and providers.
- Acquire extensive knowledge of the outside market and competitors of the company.
- Leverage various expertise in the company, including intellectual property and existing technologies to expand the company’s influence; bringing into the market new products, services and business.
- Participate in pricing the solution/service.
- Develop flexible complex pricing solutions as per client need or per new product development or product refinement.
- Extensive experience in financial planning and strategy, budgeting, managing profitability and quality management skills.
Performance Management and Training
- Direct, coach and mentor team members to ensure performance targets are being met.
- Organize training and workshop programs.
- Ensure all team members represent the company in the best way possible.
- Assist with the recruitment of new clinical staff.
- Train new team members in the Lyra processes and procedures, ensuring they meet quality standards. This will involve assessment procedures using the bio-psycho-social model, clinical reasoning and effective report writing.
- You will be required to develop a training manual with clinical processes and standardised systems and protocols.
- Maintain training records of new staff trained where required and ensure competency is signed off.
- Manage and develop relationships with clients as an expert resource.
- Understand each client's work environment and bespoke requirements and ensure these are clearly documented.
- Ability to motivate other members of staff to enhance company productivity.
- Proficient management of data quality within teams.
- Responsible for effective operational process flows within teams and holding team members accountable to these processes.
Client Reports
- Continuously work with the Lyra team such as Business Intelligence and Consulting to automate, produce dashboards and provide meaningful and useful reports to our clients.
- Ensure clients' SLA’s are being met.
- Ensure that agreed management information to clients are produced and quality assured and sent directly or via the CRM to clients.
- Ensure integrated reporting where required meet the quality standards of the business.
- Meet with clients on a monthly or quarterly basis to explain reports and drive strategies to reduce absence in client organisations.
- Understand and interpret industry benchmarks within client reporting and to influence business operations accordingly.
STRATCO
- Sit on the Strategic Committee of the business and contribute to overall business strategy.
- Create metrics and operational reports to showcase delivery and strategy of department in line with business objectives.
- Assist in developing company-wide strategic goals by analysing current trends, evaluating critical measurements and strategies, resolving problems and implementing change procedures.
- Present innovative solutions for client-related concerns in line with current product set or new products. Present to and consult with senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new or bolstering existing services, products, and distribution channels.
- Cross collaboration across departments (on STRATCO) to meet business objectives.
Qualifications - Medical Doctor, preferably with a diploma or Master’s in Occupational Health.
- Commercial or business qualification such as post graduate diploma in business administration or Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
