Purpose of the Job
We are looking for a skilled Finance & Accounting Data and Automation Analyst with a background in finance, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and experience using Microsoft Power Automate to enhance data management and process efficiency. The ideal candidate will be adept at data analysis, report generation, and workflow automation, supporting finance teams by creating reliable, automated, and data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance Data Analysis, Structuring & Reporting:
- Perform in-depth structuring using Microsoft Excel to manage and analyse data sets, model scenarios, and produce insights.
- Build, maintain, and refine complex Excel models with formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and advanced functions to support various finance processes.
2. Process Automation with Power Automate:
- Design, implement, and maintain automated workflows in Power Automate to streamline repetitive tasks, reduce errors, and improve data accuracy in finance operations.
- Integrate Excel with other Microsoft applications (e.g., SharePoint, Outlook, Teams) using Power Automate, automating data inputs, notifications, and report distribution.
- Continuously monitor and troubleshoot workflows to optimize performance and adapt to changing business needs.
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics is desirable
3. Financial Data Management & Integrity:
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all financial models and automated workflows, implementing robust data validation and control measures.
- Work with the finance team to identify data gaps and opportunities for automation and implement enhancements using Excel and Power Automate.
- Perform regular audits and quality checks to ensure data accuracy across financial systems and workflows.
4. Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Collaborate with finance, accounting, and operations teams to understand financial data needs and automate reporting processes.
- Provide training and support to team members on best practices for using Excel and Power Automate in finance tasks.
- Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting Excel and Power Automate issues, and identify solutions that enhance team efficiency.
5. Continuous Improvement & Documentation:
- Stay up-to-date on new Excel and Power Automate features, integrating relevant updates into finance processes.
- Document all automated workflows, Excel models, and reporting processes for easy access and knowledge sharing across the finance team.
- Proactively seek opportunities to improve workflows and reporting efficiency, suggesting new tools or methods where beneficial.
Key skills and experience to be evidenced within your application include
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience: Experience in a finance and accounting data analysis role with a proven track record of using Excel and Power Automate for process automation.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VBA macros, data visualization, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate, with experience creating, testing, and maintaining workflows.
- Familiarity with other Microsoft tools, such as Power BI, Power Query, and SharePoint is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse large datasets, interpret data structures, and provide automation producing actionable insights.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized with a focus on data accuracy and quality control.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with financial software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics).
- Certification in Microsoft Office Specialist (Excel Expert) or Microsoft Power Automate is a plus
