Exciting Opportunity: Head of Finance - Commissioning & Benchmarking
Location: Cardiff Band 8c
About the Role:
As the Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in leading financial commissioning, costing, and benchmarking functions across the organization. You will manage a team of eight and provide professional advice to support financial strategies, business cases, and performance improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing provider activity and agreements, including LTAs and high-cost exclusions.
Overseeing financial flows and reserves with commissioners and healthcare providers.
Leading costing and benchmarking initiatives to drive efficiency and performance improvements.
Advising on clinical service development business cases.
Representing finance at senior management and professional forums.
What You'll Bring:
Essential:
CCAB-qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience.
Extensive NHS finance experience at a senior management level.
Expertise in NHS costing, commissioning processes, and financial management.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
Desirable:
Project management experience and knowledge of general management practices.
Experience in developing and delivering complex business cases.
