Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants who will be reporting to the Electrical Engineering Foreman to be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and all electrical repairs and equipment within the electrical discipline according to sound engineering practice and equipment specifications, but not limited.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Achievement of safe production performance levels through the effective maintenance of equipment.
• Attend and conduct safety meetings & risk assessments.
• Ensure all legal inspections & documentation are kept up to date.
• Attend to breakdowns and maintenance of plant equipment.
• Ensure that material, spares, and equipment are available as required.
• Make yourself available for overtime & standby from time to time in accordance with the requirements of your duty.
• Identifying of hazards in your area of responsibility and remedial measures drawn up and implemented to eliminate incidents/accidents.
• Records results of all legal examinations in the appropriate format.
• Ensure effective communication and feedback between yourself, relieving shift and your supervisor.
• Performing work with due regard to the requirements stipulated in SOP’s and COP’s.
• Completing job cards according to service schedules, inform supervisor of required spares.
• Ensure proper and adequate on the job training and coaching is provided to apprentices, assistants, and subordinates.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
· Grade 12/Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
· Trade Certificate with recognized institution.
EXPERIENCE
· At least 5 years’ or more underground (advantageous) and surface mining experience
· Experience in processing plants e.g. furnaces, ESPs, crushing and screening
· Knowledge of air conditioners and HVAC systems
· Capability of troubleshooting AC & DC complex circuits
· Experience on VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVES & SOFT STARTERS
· Experience in motor protection switching devices (ABB-UMC &SIEMENS _SIMOCODES)
· Basic PLC AND Networks troubleshooting.
