What you’ll be doing:
- Provide specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise in systems architecture
- Understand the contractual and performance requirements for various systems,through design, build, integration, installation and commissioning activities
- Developing, communicating, and maintaining logical, physical and functional system architectures supporting the entire engineering lifecycle
- Lead the development and compliance of systems architectures, adhering to corporate standards and within constraints of performance and feasibility to support translation of the architecture into a design which forms the basis for systems construction and verification
- Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the correct tools and documentation and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority
- Support the development of estimates for the scope of work and resources required to deliver it in order to support bids, proposal development and project planning activities from a process and governance perspective
- Provide technical guidance to other engineers and support the engineering management team in planning and controlling specialist activities
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Knowledge of the engineering lifecycle with experience of operating in the concept/design phase and awareness of the entire engineering lifecycle
- STEM related degree or previous experience within the Automotive/Defence/Telecommunications/Nuclear environment
- Worked on concept/designs or early proof of concept

The Principal Engineer – Systems Engineering (Architecture) will be able to apply their subject matter expertise and domain experience to support submarine programmes in providing the definition of the system and sub-system structure, interfaces and associated derived requirements.
