The Systems Engineer will assume responsibility for technical requirements of the design, development, prototyping, and verification of electro-mechanical products and systems. Together with their associated design documentation, test, and qualification procedures, as defined by project, and stakeholders such that it achieves outputs which meet validated requirements.
KEY TASKS
- Take part in all stages of the product’s lifecycle, from conceptualisation and Business Development support to production and after-sale support.
- Verify and qualify designs at various levels, ensuring that a product meets its requirements with adequate design margins and will perform reliably and consistently in specified operational environments.
- Capture product requirements from internal and external stakeholders and collate them into technical requirement specifications.
- Map requirements to the appropriate verification steps (design review, qualification, etc.) in the product development cycle. Coordinate with the team to ensure that the requirements are verified at the identified verification steps.
- Produce and submit deliverables for technical reviews and baselining; participate in technical reviews, as required by the PMO, project review process and client requirements.
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines and project managers within an integrated, cross-functional team environment.
- Monitor and report on the status of projects’ technical deliverables to the Project Manager.
- Ensure the practice of and compliance with the organisation’s engineering standards and Business Management System processes.
- Write and compile technical control and procedural documents, including product production documentation in collaboration with production.
- Support and maintain assembly, integration and verification plans, test procedures and test environments in support of and collaboration with product testing.
- Ensure the practice of and compliance with Configuration Control processes and procedures, for all project based Configurable Items (CIs).
- Provide technical support for procurement, manufacturing, product testing and operations as required.
- Other ad-hoc duties as required by company.
