Job Description:
A UK accounting firm is looking for a Tax Compliance Officer to join their team in Cape Town . You will be a member of an established team focusing on providing tax services to a variety of industry sectors. You will need to be a self-starter, able to work independently in carrying out reviews and managing a portfolio, client-facing, show willingness to work as part of a team, and be able to meet deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing a portfolio of clients for compliance matters.
- Preparing VAT returns and registration/de-registration forms for clients, while also reviewing compliance tasks completed by colleagues.
- Conducting VAT reviews as part of our auditing process.
- Delivering high-quality work and adhering to deadlines.
- Demonstrating strong client service skills, the ability to work independently, collaborate in a team, and negotiate effectively.
- Possessing excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
Requirements:
- Between 3 and 4 years of total experience.
- UK experience is not a requirement, but advantageous.
- Previous experience in a professional services environment and dealing with HMRC would be an advantage.
- Previous experience in managing a portfolio of clients would be an advantage.
- Experience in providing tax compliance work is required.
- Microsoft Office experience required (particularly Excel).
Salary:
R30 000 - R45 000 per month | R360 000 - R540 000 per year
