Key Responsibilities:
- Perform assembly and inspection operations to meet required quality standards and production schedules.
- Use engineering drawings and specifications to assemble components, ensuring all processes align with technical requirements.
- Conduct high-pressure hose testing, including proof and destruction testing, to verify compliance with quality standards.
- Manufacture cables and hoses, including cutting to specified lengths, attaching end fittings, and applying heat-shrinkable material to standards.
- Perform swaging and proof-load testing for end fittings per process specifications.
- Undertake bench fitting and assembly tasks, such as drilling, riveting, bonding, and oven curing, ensuring all procedures meet quality requirements.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are fit for purpose, and report any issues promptly.
- Conduct self-inspections and certify work through appropriate stamping, maintaining adherence to quality protocols.
- Participate in Lean initiatives, such as 5S and continuous improvement programs.
- Comply with Health & Safety policies, including COSHH and risk assessments.
- Engage in in-house and external training programs to stay updated on modern practices.
Key Attributes and Skills:
Essential:
- Basic background in manufacturing or engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process specifications.
- Familiarity with hand tools and basic measuring equipment.
- Understanding of Health & Safety regulations, COSHH, and quality assurance protocols.
- Manual dexterity and strong attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Experience with SAP systems.
- Proficiency with drilling machines, riveting techniques, and adhesive bonding.
- Mechanical apprenticeship qualification.
