ISQ Recruitment is working with a reputable food packaging business in Kent seeking an experienced
Packaging Development Manager to join the team. This company is dedicated to quality, offering industry-leading traceability and is committed to operating in the most environmentally sustainable manner.
Role Summary Responsible for 3 sites and overseeing packaging initiatives across these. From concept development to implementation, this role involves driving sustainable packaging solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver efficient and fit-for-purpose packaging.
Main Responsibilities • Define and implement a packaging strategy that supports future growth, aligns with market demands, and anticipates legislative changes.
• Lead projects from customer brief through to production trials and launch, ensuring operational and environmental goals are met.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with packaging suppliers, ensuring materials meet all compliance requirements.
• Oversee supplier and material approval processes to ensure alignment with food safety, ethical, and environmental standards.
• Monitor and report on the impact of packaging innovations, focusing on cost, recyclability, carbon reduction, and operational efficiency.
• Identify improvements to packaging formats to enhance site efficiencies and recyclability rates.
• Work closely with internal teams and customers to align packaging developments with business and consumer needs.

Qualifications & Skills • A minimum of 5 years' experience in food packaging development.
• Demonstrable experience in bringing new packaging innovations to market.
• Recent experience working with major food retailers.
• Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A solid understanding of packaging compliance, sustainability, and emerging market trends.
• Proficient in MS Office, with excellent reporting and analytical capabilities.
