The Project Planner will be responsible for developing comprehensive project plans , managing schedules , and coordinating with suppliers to ensure project timelines , budgets , and quality standards are met. This role demands excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills, along with advanced proficiency in MS Projects, to successfully deliver on projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, using MS Projects to meet project objectives.
- Monitor and update project schedules regularly, identifying and resolving any potential delays.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare progress reports and present updates to stakeholders.
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers to source required materials and components for mining ventilation systems.
- Coordinate procurement timelines to align with project schedules.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to optimize cost efficiency.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze project outcomes to identify areas for improvement in planning and execution processes.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for future projects.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification would be an advantage .
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning within the mechanical engineering or manufacturing industry.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Projects for project scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with mining industry standards and regulations.
- Experience in cost control and budgeting.
