My client, a giant in the manufacturing industry, is looking for an exceptional Junior or recently qualified Trade Tested Millwright. Must be Electrically strong. Must have working knowledge and experience in PLC. You must have a minimum of 2 years post-Trade Test qualification experience in the manufacturing industry. Must be exceptionally strong in maintenance. Must be strong in electrical, PLC, and hydraulic presses (will be an advantage).

JOB DETAILS:
The incumbent in this position will ensure optimum plant availability & efficiency by maintaining and repairing plant and equipment according to engineering specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a safe & healthy working environment in the department.
- Ensure asset availability conforms to agreed KPIs.
- Asset Management to maintain equipment in standard condition.
- Financial controls of maintenance budgets.
- Consumable and critical spares requests, updates, and verification.
- Daily line inspections and repairs.
- Carry out PRAGMA inspections, adhoc, breakdowns and preventative maintenance.
- Shutdown action plan and execution.
- Safety custodian for area of responsibility and ensure compliance.
- Shutdown resource allocation.
- Standby duties and call-outs.
- General housekeeping and ensure OHSAct compliance.
- Record and achieve set KPIs.
- Waste reduction and elimination.
- Training of department maintenance team and process controllers.
- Rebuild and continuous improvement projects/initiatives.
- Reporting unsafe acts and conditions.
- Ensure Process Controllers adhere to process controls standards.
- Maintain standards in the plant and adhere to all safety rules and procedures
- Maintain production machines, electrically driven machines and electronic control gear React to breakdowns expediently
- Diagnoses, fault finds and repairs equipment failures so as to effectively minimise machine downtime
- Dismantling, fault detection, repairing.
- Maintenance, reconstruction and installation of machinery
- Propose modifications to equipment for better performance or safety improvements Control Job Card information and conduct checks
- Active involvement in the developing implementing and maintaining Preventative Maintenance System
Further essential responsibilities:
- Diagnoses, fault finds and repairs equipment failures to effectively minimise machine downtime
- Ensures test equipment is well maintained.
- Carries out shift work under the pre-planned roster.
- Carries out planned maintenance schedules to required standards.
- Checks that all relevant information for the updating of drawings is collated and is accurate and correct.
- Attends training courses as and when required.
- Covers for other multi-skilled artisans for leave, training, and sick leave.
- Installation of electrical & mechanical equipment.
- Liaises with production personnel in his assigned areas and other engineering staff as and when required.
- Coaches operators on best operating practices and autonomous maintenance tasks.
- Submits suggestions for improvements within his sphere of operations.
- Participates in Shift Base Units, plant teams, and focus teams.
- Reports unsafe acts and conditions to the appropriate management level.
- Compiles shift reports and ensures proper shift handover as per the procedure.
- Adheres to the environmental policy and procedures of reducing waste, preventing spills, meeting environmental targets, and complying with hazardous chemical procedures and environmental legal requirements.
- Maintains a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace.
- Investigate incidents (SHEQ) and identify root causes of Non-Conformances and correct deviations
- Understand the SHEQ requirements of Section
- Attending to breakdowns: Electrical, Mechanical, and Instrumentation
- Fault finding in various fields including Electrical, Mechanical Fitting, PLCs, Variable Speed Drives, Hydraulics, and Pneumatics.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic drawings
- Competent with Isolation and Lock-out procedures
- Ability to work on Overhead cranes, electro-pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, basic instrumentation, and basic auto-electrical equipment.
