Role Overview: As a
Logistics Engineer
in Human Capital Development, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing logistics and supply chain solutions to support the delivery of training programs, employee development initiatives, and HR services across our global organization. You will work closely with HR, operations, and IT teams to ensure that our logistical operations are streamlined, cost-effective, and aligned with business goals. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing the experience and growth of our employees and the overall success of our Human Capital Development strategies.
Key Responsibility:
Design and implement efficient logistics systems for the transportation, storage, and distribution of training materials, equipment, and resources related to employee development programs.
Work with internal teams to manage the flow of resources and materials necessary for training events, workshops, and other employee development activities.
Analyze current logistics processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and cost reduction while ensuring the timely delivery of resources and services.
Track and analyze key logistics metrics, including inventory levels, transportation costs, and delivery performance. Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management.
Collaborate with Human Resources, IT, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of employee development programs and to troubleshoot any logistical issues that arise.
Manage relationships with third-party vendors, including training suppliers, transportation companies, and material handling services, to ensure smooth operations and cost efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards related to logistics, transportation, and employee welfare.
Leverage logistics management software, ERP systems, and other tools to enhance operational efficiency and transparency within the Human Capital Development framework.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Tech (Eng) (NQF 7) with 6+ years relevant experience
Eng/B.Sc (Eng) with 4+ years relevant experience; OR
Eng with 3+ years relevant experience
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Human Resources or Employee Development processes.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with workforce planning and talent development frameworks.
International logistics experience or experience working in global organizations.
Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS, CILT) is a plus.
Experience:
Conducting physical configuration audits.
Using Configuration Management Systems (CMS).
Using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Executing Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), inclusive of: Structuring Physical Breakdown Structures (PBSs), Conducting Reliability.
Estimations, Executing Failure Modes, Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Identifying Preventive & Corrective Maintenance Tasks
Analysing Maintenance Procedures and Resources, Drawing conclusions from LSA Data, Proposing Design/Operation/Support.
Recommendations and Creating RAM & LSA Information Reports.
Verification and validation of logistic support packages.
Knowledge:
Recognised domain knowledge of logistic engineering, for high-tech products and large-scale integrated products.
Logistic and systems engineering methods, procedures, tools and techniques.
Configuration management and configuration management systems.
Logistic Engineering Standards, particularly MIL-STD 1388-1A /2B, MIL-STD 1629A and S1000D /S3000D Additional Note
