Division: Management Services, Western Cape
REPORTS TO: Section Manager or any other person appointed to supervise him/her from time to time.
PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE
Provide supporting services and prepare documentation for projects as well as provide other appropriate technical support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General:
- Identify areas for improvement within projects and processes
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to management services
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to security protocols in handling data, records, and systems
- Document projects within guidelines set by supervisor
- Produce high quality drawings and documentation
- Attend technical discussions and project delivery meetings
- Interact with project team and external consultants
- Prepare payment certificates and budget forecasts
- Ability to resolve conflicts on site, or between external consultants, making sure to not aggravate any arising issues and solve conflicts in an ethical manner
Data-collection/ Design-Based Activities:
- Assist with data collection, organization, and analysis for project reports and presentations
- Minor design of aspects pertaining to Civil Engineering
- Assist with tender documentation
Site-Based Activities:
- Survey road and ground data and quality control of setting out works
- Conduct site inspections on a regular basis and write daily site report as applicable
- Continuous monitoring of work on site and enforcement of standards/specifications
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Capability and desire to learn
- Understand the importance and ensure that appropriate technical standards, drawing standards, application of software tools and quality procedures are maintained on all projects
- Complete quality documentation within a required timeframe
- Proficiency in basic design packages such as QGIS and Auto CAD Civil 3D
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook), database management systems, and data entry software.
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- A N. Dip in relevant field
- 3 years’ experience post N. Dip
- Experience in the use of GIS systems
- Mindset of continuous learning
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Takes ownership and responsibility for own work
- Team player
