THE JOB
We are seeking an Accounting Associate for Ticketmaster South Africa. You will perform the day-to-day accounting requirements of Ticketmaster South Africa in line with group policies and reporting requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial / management reporting packs and annual financial statements for Ticketmaster South Africa, that are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Assist with cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and petty cash.
- Oversee and manage the bookkeeping outputs on a daily basis (AP, AR, Cash and Banks).
- Ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortised, and disposed of as appropriate.
- Assist the Head of Finance to ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist the Head of Finance to ensure that all the statutory requirements are met, including Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Pay as You Earn (PAYE) with relevant governing bodies (SARS, STATSSA, CIPC, etc.).
- Assist in the preparation all supporting information for the annual audit and be a point of contact on site for the external auditors when necessary.
- Daily transactional reconciliations between ticketing and banking platforms.
- Client settlement reports and reconciliations produced weekly for events that mature in the prior week.
- Any other duties and ad hoc reporting and reconciliation work requested by the Head of Finance.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
- You have a relevant professional financial qualification, such as a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant previous experience from a previous position.
- You are a self-motivated individual who possesses a “roll up the sleeves attitude” and a “hands-on” style, as well as the aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- You have experience in financial accounting and reporting software (Xero, Oracle, SAP EPM advantageous) and audit experience (either as an auditor or having produced financial statements and worked with external auditors on company audit as part of previous work experience).
- You have operating accounting experience, and experience and confidence dealing with senior management and divisional operations.
- You have strong organizational and time management abilities that allow projects and goals to be completed on time.
- You have the ability to travel if required and a flexible schedule (days/nights, late hours, weekends, and holidays) to meet business needs and commitments.
- You have computer proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- You have excellent references.
