Job Purpose: To provide visible patrolling on sites, immediate armed reaction and escorting, incident management, close protection and operational support for critical services that support the operations of the company and to ensure that all matters are addressed in a prompt, efficient, and professional manner.
Education and Experience: PSIRA Registered (Minimum Grade D). Matric. Valid Business Purposes Firearm Competency. One (1) to three (3) years Armed Response experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Armed Response: When confronted with a threat situation, respond in line with the Standard Operating Procedures and all governing laws, prioritising the lives of individuals involved. React to threats without posing a risk to the public. Follow company policies when reporting incidents. React immediately to all relevant alarms. If the alarm is positive, assess the situation and keep the Control Room and colleagues informed. Perform arrests on intruders or offenders and keep them in custody. Liaise with SAPS and management to ensure lawful handover of suspects. Ensure response times are according to SOPs. React immediately to situations where any member of the public's life is in danger. Ensure safety by checking premises thoroughly. Take detailed notes and photos of all activity at the crime scene. Report back to the Control Room regarding response requests. Conduct client reconnaissance and execute waylay operations as needed.
- Reporting: Record all incidents to the control room and senior personnel with full details as prescribed in the SOP and to the NOC. Conduct proper handovers at the end of each shift. Ensure firearm and vehicle are handed over according to company policies. Inform relevant parties of discrepancies and follow up on actions taken.
- Site Checks: Conduct daily site inspections and cover vulnerable areas. Ensure visibility at standoff points and during patrols. Conduct continuous patrols effectively to ensure a visible security service. Report suspicious activity to the control room and NOC. Investigate or respond to unusual circumstances. Assist in preventing theft, arson, sabotage, vandalism, and crime. Inform the Control Room about any defects or defaults.
- Crime Prevention: Develop relationships with crime-affiliated third parties and law enforcement to combat criminal activities. Formulate preventative measures to minimize crime-related risks. Conduct research into the reasons for criminal activities and make recommendations. Evaluate protection status on hotspot areas and report to the NOC with recommendations.
- General: Liaise with clients, management, and colleagues to ensure smooth operations. Handle client complaints and requests efficiently. Maintain the company vehicle in a neat and tidy condition. Treat clients with respect and maintain the professional image of the company.
- Health and Safety: Use equipment only for intended purposes and within health and safety regulations. Report any hazards to the SHEQ Manager. Be responsible for personal health and safety and that of others. Adhere to regulations on the usage and maintenance of consumables and equipment.
- Quality: Adhere to the company's Quality Manual, Policies and Procedures. Ensure departmental objectives are met and discussed continually, providing updates to the ISO department. Measure, analyze, and improve the QMS through activities such as updating policies and conducting audits.
