Reporting to the Managing Director (MD), the Finance Manager will define the process and implement the infrastructure/systems needed to support substantial growth over the next years. They will ensure legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions. Oversee cost and general accounting, accounts receivable/collection and payroll, and risk management. As a member of the management team, the Finance Manager will be involved in strategic planning, evaluation, and professional development initiatives. Key responsibility Areas: 1. Business Development · Serve as a business partner to the MD on the organizations financial, budgeting, and administrative processes; · Support business development strategies with financial analysis and due diligence specifically related to Africa · Develop and implement cost saving initiatives and ensure the best use of company resources. · Facilitate negotiations of commercial terms related to contract for irrigation projects in Africa. 2. Financial Management · Review and approve preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics; · Ensure Statutory Accounts are paid on time; · Responsible personally for General Ledger and Financial Statements Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Fixed Assets and Intercompany reconciliation; · Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advises management of actions and potential risks; · Manages budget and controls expenses effectively; · Keeps up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance; · Coordinate all audit activities. · Oversee, along with Supply Chain Manager, the forecasting process. · Responsible to drive and coordinate internal Annual Operating Plan 3. Management · Manage and mentor staff in finance department ; · Ensure employees in relevant departments are more efficient regarding administrations systems through co-operative management; · Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consults with Human Resources as appropriate. Skills and Knowledges : · Bachelors degree (CA preferred) in Accounting, Business, or Finance. · 8 years relevant experience and 3 years management experience · Excellent communication and people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary and diverse team. · Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting. · Experience should include legal, audit, compliance, budget, and resource development. · Experience with International Companies as a preference · Technologically savvy, with an ability to point to examples of having worked with IT staff to develop and implement new processes and systems that increased efficiency. · Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented. · Excellent fluency in written and spoken English. · Good experiences in working in a multicultural environment. · Experience with ERP (SAP) systems as a preference · Experience on manufacturing companies as a preference · Experience in cross border trading incl tax regulations in African countries as a preference · Ability to work under pressure and short deadlines. · Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment. Candidate will travel throughout RSA and SADC at times.
