Key Responsibilities:
- Create patterns for corporate fashion wear including jackets, coats, blouses, pants, skirts, and dresses.
- Interpret design sketches and tech packs to craft accurate patterns.
- Modify and adapt patterns for design updates and size variations.
- Build and maintain a base pattern library for diverse styles.
- Collaborate with designers and production teams to ensure pattern accuracy.
- Attend fittings and adjust patterns as needed.
- Use CAD software to create and grade patterns.
- Ensure patterns meet high quality and production standards.
- Stay on top of industry trends and techniques.
Qualifications:
- Certified in Patternmaking on Lectra / Gerber systems.
- Degree in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of patternmaking experience, preferably in corporate wear or tailored garments.
- Expertise in garment construction, especially jackets and coats.
- Experience with both men's and women's patterns.
Skills & Competencies:
- Deep knowledge of fabrics and their impact on fit and drape.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to adapt patterns for different body shapes and sizes.
- Proficiency in manual and CAD-based pattern drafting.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Time management skills to meet tight deadlines.
- Creativity to suggest design improvements.
Remuneration: R30 000 - R40 000
