Key Responsibilities
- Extract, Transform, Load data
- Undertake data collection, data pre-processing, data engineering, feature selection and exploratory data analysis
- Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques
- Build models to address business problems
- Present information using data visualization techniques
- Maintain and develop dashboards using business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Maintain and develop datasets on our BI Microsoft SQL server.
- Manage a team of data analysts and monitor performance.
- Conduct team yearly and quarterly KPI reviews
- Lead the team to success
Key Duties
- Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
- Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data
- Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
- Combine models through ensemble modelling and evaluate model performance
- Implement object serialization
- Ensure model reproducibility
- Present information using data visualization techniques
- Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams
- Drive new projects/models within the business
- Identify areas of improvement and propose required solutions
- Provide instruction and guidance to other personnel within the Solutions team
- Conduct and lead feasibility studies on various internal and external ventures
- Present key findings to clients and the business
- Keep the solutions team informed of market technologies and capabilities
- Keep EXCO informed of industry and business trends
- Offer guidance and support to the Business Analysts
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience as a Manager/Leader in a similar role
- Understanding of the logistics industry
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
- Experience in data mining
- Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
- Knowledge of SQL and Python
- Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau and Power BI)
- Strong math skills (e.g., statistics, algebra)
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (Visual storytelling)
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or another quantitative field is preferred
- Valid Code 08 drivers license and own reliable transport
