RTT invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Bookkeeper position based in Cape Town. The role is responsible for expense analysis, recording day to day financial transactions, and managing the fixed asset register.
Responsibilities:
- Full bookkeeping function to Trial balance
- Verify transactions are recorded correctly in the general ledger
- Manage credit card statements
- Monitor and manage Petty cash reconciliations
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Processing COD journals
- Month end accruals
- Reporting
- Financial Responsibility
- Management of Fixed Asset Register
- Expense analysis per branch
- Liaising with Administrators at various branches regarding meeting month-end deadlines and assisting with Purchase order requisitions
- Liaising with Branch Managers on GL entries and queries
- Perform other duties as requested by the Department Head or Manager within own area of abilities and responsibilities
Minimum Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Previous experience working on Oracle would be advantageous
- Excellent Excel skills
- Computer Literacy, Numerical skills
- Sound communication skills in both written and verbal format
- Financial and accounting knowledge
- Ability to maintain critical confidentiality, integrity, and exercise extreme caution
- Excellent problem-solving/judgment skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills
- Able to communicate and build relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
- Pro-active
- Excellent analytical skills
- Capable of working independently, and having responsibility as an individual
- Grade 12
- Bookkeeping course/certificate/diploma
- A relevant qualification in Accounting/Bookkeeping will be beneficial
- Studying toward B.Com or similar
