Role: Management Accountant - Transit
Location: Johannesburg
How will you make a difference?
As a Management Accountant, you'll direct monthly reporting and provide essential support and technical expertise to our Commercial and Operations teams. Your role will be instrumental in delivering insightful analysis and driving process improvements in both operations and reporting to align with our company strategy to maximise business value.
What will your typical day look like?
- Review annual sales plans with the commercial team.
- Collaborate with regional teams to develop and review operational budgets.
- Update yearly activity rates and standards.
- Input and upload reviewed budget numbers into HFM.
- Analyse product profit margins, overheads, and variances.
- Report on cash flow forecasts and monthly management accounts.
- Manage production costs, analyse manufacturing costs, and compare standard to actual costs.
- Review and report on general costs and provide feedback.
- Maintain standard costing and ensure monthly checks.
- Process monthly accounting entries and maintain a fixed asset register.
- Prepare budgets, and forecasts, to ensure strict collection of debtors.
- Handle weekly wages, and monthly salaries, and close monthly accounts.
- Prepare, review, and authorise payments, and manage banking systems.
What do we want to know about you?
- Degree in Accounting/ Cost and Management Accounting (CA or CIMA would be advantageous).
- Experience as a Management Accountant in a manufacturing environment.
- Up to date knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and US GAAP.
- Compliance experience and application of key controls relating to Sarbanes Oxley.
- Must be technically and commercially strong.
- A confident and able communicator who can influence and persuade others.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
