MWR CyberSec is currently seeking the skills of an enthusiastic Accountant.
The role will include some of the following responsibilities:
Financial records:
- Preparing, examining, and maintaining all financial records and transactions
- Managing balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Recording accounting adjustments, accruals, allocations, currency revaluations, and translations
- Handling monthly, quarterly and annual closings
Financial reporting:
- Preparing monthly and annual accounts
- Publishing financial reports on time
Financial analysis:
- Analysing the company's accounts and identifying potential risks and opportunities
- Reporting on the company’s financial health and liquidity
Compliance:
- Ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other accounting procedures
- Ensuring that the company adheres to applicable financial regulations
- Computing taxes and preparing tax returns
Accounts receivable/payable:
- Managing accounts receivable and following up on invoices
- Reconciling accounts payable and receivable
Cash management:
- Maintaining cash accounts, bank accounts, and petty cash registers
- Ensuring timely bank payments
Other:
- Liaising with external auditors
- Preparing budgets & forecasts
Knowledge and Skills:
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Time management
- Problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including IFRS for SMEs
- Hands-on experience with accounting software like Pastel, Sage, QuickBooks or Xero
- Advanced MS Excel skills
Qualifications & Experience:
- BCom in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
- Completed SAICA/SAIPA Articles
Working for MWR CyberSec:
- MWR is on a hybrid work model, for all Employees who have completed probation and training
- MWR offices is based in Sandown from 2025
